Build and manage a maximum security prison.

As the sun casts its morning rays on a beautiful countryside, the clock begins to tick.

You need to get down to business and build a detention cell to hold the batch of maximum security prisoners heading to your future prison in their yellow bus.



Once they all have a place to lay their weary heads, the fun can really begin.

Prison Architect opens with the story of Edward, a man facing the electric chair for committing a crime of passion.

This is followed by four additional chapters focusing on different characters and aspects of prison life.

- Manage prison admissions and choose between low-security prisoners, who pay less, or high-security prisoners, who pay more but are much more dangerous
- Hire and fire staff to perform certain tasks such as security or construction
- Manage inmates' work schedule. Decide when they eat and when they sleep and when they work or have free time
