Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 may be a remaster, but it's also ambitious. The upcoming collection of iconic PlayStation games aims to take everything players liked about the original titles - skaters, courses, tricks - and update them to make you feel at home in 2020. The game that transformed the world of skateboarding is back! Tony Hawk and Vicarious Visions, the studio that revived the Crash series, have joined forces to bring back remastered versions to fans of the first two games in the Tony Hawk series - Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.

Games, especially the early 3D ones, do not always age gracefully. It is a difficult balancing act; it changes too little and the game will feel dated, but it changes too much and can just as well be a different game. Fortunately, from what I played, THPS1 + 2 found the sweet spot. This is Tony Hawk as I remember.

To offer great gameplay sessions, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 will bring together all the original levels, professional skaters and classic schemes that players remember from the '90s and 2000s with new levels, recreated with great care, and with a series of familiar songs such as Superman from Goldfinger.






The collection includes a number of professional skaters such as Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, Andrew Reynolds, Elissa Steamer, Chad Muska, Eric Koston, Rodney Mullen, Rune Glifberg, Kareen Campbell, Jamie Thomas and Bob Burnquist.


Classic schemes and combos on the songs of the generation that put skateboarding on the world stage.


Includes game modes from the first two titles plus local two-player co-op and multiplayer






The most obvious change is the way the game looks.


The blocked, muddy characters and environments have been replaced by much more realistic images.






Skaters will change their body somewhat awkwardly when they land a particularly difficult trick and there is a cold effect when you wipe, as if someone were unrolling a VHS tape.


The warehouse is located exactly as it was 20 years ago.


All the details - the wall you go through to reach ground level, the hard-to-reach office space, the taxi rank - are still there.


Right now it looks much more realistic.

The Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater options are back so you can play your custom levels with your friends or enjoy their creations.
